PNRR, online tenders for the restoration of 293 churches and religious buildings

12/06/2022

Restore and improve the quality and safety of 293 religious sites and buildings belonging to the cultural heritage of the Religious Buildings Fund (FEC), including the Basilica of Saint Dominic in Bologna, the Majolic Cloister of Saint Clare in Naples or, again, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella in Florence and other important churches located throughout the country.

This is the objective of the two tender procedures for Framework Agreements, worth 257 million euros, published by Invitalia, in execution of the determinations of the Central Directorate for Religious Affairs and for the administration of the Religious Buildings Fund of the Ministry of the Interior.

The calls implement the PNRR Measure “Seismic safety in places of worship, restoration of FEC heritage and shelter sites for works of art (Recovery Art), M1C3 - Investment 2.4” which involves restoration interventions for the churches of the Worship Building Fund.

The two tender procedures were divided into 9 geographical lots and each geographical lot into 4 performance sub-lots relating to the different services necessary for the construction of the works (technical services, design verification services, works and testing services).

The Framework Agreement instrument supports the governance of the PNRR intervention: it allows all the procurement procedures relating to the performance phases useful for the implementation of the intervention to be initiated simultaneously and, at the same time, it allows economic operators to organize the offer (sub-suppliers, materials, etc.) in the face of a huge and contemporary demand.

All the details are available on the Invitalia platform for the electronic management of tenders.
