The project to redevelop the Fruit and Vegetable Market represents a virtuous case in the field of agri-food logistics. The activities carried out include:
1. Two large cold rooms of 5,000 m² each
Located in the north and south side of the complex, the cells are equipped with high-efficiency refrigeration systems, designed to ensure operational continuity, reduced consumption and maximum quality in the preservation of fruit and vegetables.
2. 2.5 MW photovoltaic plant with BESS storage systems
A new generation photovoltaic system, integrated with battery storage systems (BESS), has been installed on the canopies that cover 620 parking spaces.
The energy produced significantly supports the supply of cold rooms, especially during summer load peaks, contributing to the reduction of the site's carbon footprint.
3. Digitalization of logistics processes and energy monitoring
The project includes the implementation of digital tools for the optimization of goods movement and the real-time control of energy consumption.
A decisive step towards smarter, more sustainable logistics aligned with the objectives of ecological transition.
