Veronamercato: a strategic project for the innovation of Italian agri-food logistics
This morning Dabster participated in the institutional visit of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Francesco Lollobrigida to Veronamercato SpA, on the occasion of the official presentation of the redevelopment project of the Fruit and Vegetable Market.
A strategic intervention for the country, financed with more than 10 million euros in non-repayable funds thanks to the PNRR — Mission 2, Component 1, Investment 2.1, dedicated to the modernization of agri-food systems.

Dabster's contribution: design and testing of plant engineering works

Dabster was involved in the final design and testing of the plant works, using advanced engineering know-how to ensure efficiency, operational safety and sustainability of the entire complex.

A role that confirms the company's vocation in supporting infrastructure projects capable of integrating technological innovation, energy performance and improvement of logistics processes.

An intervention with high energy and technological value

An intervention with high energy and technological value
The project to redevelop the Fruit and Vegetable Market represents a virtuous case in the field of agri-food logistics. The activities carried out include:

1. Two large cold rooms of 5,000 m² each

Located in the north and south side of the complex, the cells are equipped with high-efficiency refrigeration systems, designed to ensure operational continuity, reduced consumption and maximum quality in the preservation of fruit and vegetables.

2. 2.5 MW photovoltaic plant with BESS storage systems

A new generation photovoltaic system, integrated with battery storage systems (BESS), has been installed on the canopies that cover 620 parking spaces.
The energy produced significantly supports the supply of cold rooms, especially during summer load peaks, contributing to the reduction of the site's carbon footprint.

3. Digitalization of logistics processes and energy monitoring

The project includes the implementation of digital tools for the optimization of goods movement and the real-time control of energy consumption.
A decisive step towards smarter, more sustainable logistics aligned with the objectives of ecological transition.

A project that looks to the future

For Dabster, the collaboration with Veronamercato and with all the professionals involved represents an important confirmation of its role in the national engineering scene.
Being an active part in works of this importance means contributing to the development of infrastructures that make the Italian agri-food chain more competitive and sustainable.

Dabster is proud to provide skills, technology and vision to build logistics models capable of responding to the challenges of tomorrow.
