Located in the suggestive setting of the Alban Hills, the Tenimenti Leone winery represents a perfect combination of excellent wine production and high-level tourist hospitality. The plant design project carried out by Dabster had a dual mission: to protect the productive heart of the company - the barrel room - by ensuring the strict microclimatic conditions necessary for the aging of the wine, and to develop the technological infrastructure for the attached accommodation (B&B). A project where energy efficiency and precision engineering merge with respect for architecture to enhance both the quality of the final product and the visitor's experience

Protecting wine and elevating the experience

Designing systems for a modern winery means balancing two apparently opposing operating worlds. On the one hand, the winemaker's needs: the barrel room requires millimetric temperature and humidity control to avoid dehydration of the wood in the barrels and the consequent loss of wine through evaporation (the so-called “physiological decline”). On the other hand, the needs of Hospitality: welcoming, quiet and perfectly air-conditioned spaces for B&B guests. The real challenge for Dabster was to integrate very high performance technological systems in an architecturally distinctive context, ensuring environmental stability in production and centralized, intelligent and invisible management in

accommodation areas.
Integrated microclimate and home automation engineering
To meet these multiple needs without compromise, Dabster structured the project involving its specialized Business Units, creating a synergy between precision mechanics and automation:
  • BU Mechanical and HVAC Systems: For the barrel room, we have designed a continuously adjustable air treatment system (inverter) combined with a specific adiabatic humidification system. Through a stainless steel mesh and high-pressure nozzles, the system emits micro-particles of water to keep the humidity constant between 80% and 85%, preserving the integrity of the barrels. For the B&B, the division has engineered a thermal infrastructure based on high-efficiency heat pumps

  • Automation, Electrical and Special Business Unit: The effectiveness of mechanical systems is guaranteed by the system's digital “brain”. In the barrel cellar, combined sensors (temperature, humidity, CO₂) coordinate ventilation and humidification autonomously. In the B&B, the division has implemented a complete home automation system that allows centralized supervision of climate and lighting, reducing energy waste in the 5 apartments
  • and maximizing guest comfort.
Technical performance for oenological excellence
The data from the surgery demonstrate the high technological density and surgical precision of the designed implants, guaranteeing Tenenti Leone absolute operating standards:

Barricaia: precision microclimate control
  • Absolute Thermohygrometric Stability: Constant temperature guaranteed at 17°C (±1°C) and relative humidity set at 80% (± 1%) 365 days a year, in total compliance with the highest oenological standards.
  • 12,000 m³/h of treated air: through continuously adjustable ventilation and air conditioning systems for uninterrupted 24-hour operation.
  • Over 100 kW of thermal power: dedicated exclusively to the refining area to cope with any variation in external load.
B&B: facilities and amenities for hospitality
  • Over 100 kW of installed thermal power: for the 5 independent apartments, managed through centralized home automation supervision.
  • Generation and distribution: 6 heat pumps serving 17 indoor units, accompanied by 800 liters of storage for domestic hot water.
  • Materials and networks: Use of 1,200 kg of steel for plant infrastructures and more than 1 km of pipes dedicated to heating and water services.
  • Electrical infrastructure: Over 1,200 meters of pipes and more than 2,000 meters of electrical cables to support lighting and building automation.
