Dabster designs the systems for Banco Fresco

Banco Fresco is a food retail chain specialized in very fresh products whose format evokes the old covered markets interpreted in a modern key and whose attention to the environment is particularly high, given that the objective is also to eliminate packaging. For the design of the mechanical and electrical systems of the new store in Garbagnate Milanese, the eighth in Italy and which will host more than 5 thousand items, Banco Fresco relied on Dabster Engineering, focusing on a structure dedicated to strong energy savings and use of renewable sources. The sales area is spread over approximately 1250 m2, alongside 750 m2 dedicated to laboratories and rooms for the preparation of fresh food, warehouses, cold rooms, offices and service areas. Relying on renewable sources was the first and necessary starting point to embrace the customer’s environmental philosophy and therefore the roof was used for the photovoltaic system and to generate part of the energy that especially the refrigerated counters require. From their recovery heat, through high-efficiency heat pump boilers equipped with exchangers, we obtained free hot water necessary for processing operations in food processing laboratories. We then planned the installation of heat recuperators for the treatment of the air in the rooms and heat pumps with VRV technology. The store was inaugurated on April 1, 2023.
